One of the biggest lies told over and over by the bureaucratic swamp - wherever it lives - is that "there will be full transparency and accountability." This applies directly to new Reno police chief Corey Solferino. I know nothing about the man; perhaps he will be a good chief. But he recently stood at the podium delivering remarks all about his "new approach to things" and he promised "full transparency." He stands there in his nice suit and just reads remarks written by the internal PR staff. Remarks with words that sound right but which are false on their face. To date in NanceGate, there has not been a shred of transparency. From day 1 there has been total silence. When the story broke, the swamp went into "circle the wagons/keep your mouths shut/it's an ongoing investigation and we can't comment/let's try to survive this" mode. Nobody has said a fucking word about what actually happened, though some of us - including head sleuth Mike Leonard - pieced it all together rather quickly. Nance falsified documents (and forced others to as well). She lied. To get more money for herself and others. That's the crux of the deal. It's easy to believe the additional claims of internal favoritism and political influence of course. This is par for the course in swampy politics. Go along to get along/what's in it for me. Officers couldn't get the equipment they needed, but the imported dog trainer from California got his piece of the pie. At best there will be some whitewashed, wordsmithed report citing "failed leadership and broken systems" all of which are being addressed so that this never happens again." Excuse me while I go puke. Listen, I'm not naive. I don't expect purity in politics. They're ALL playing the "what's in it for me" game. But don't expect us to believe the bullshit you spew about transparency, which is the last thing the swamp wants. What the swamp wants is PERPETUITY of their game, the grift. Regretfully, the swamp lives on... deep and wide. BTW, the other shoe in NanceGate will ultimately drop: Federal grant money was misspent. Fraudulently. Rumor is that the FBI is already here investigating. Mike?

The problem I see with your poll as to whether Hillary should resign as mayor is who would be next in line to take her place. While I'm not ok with her as mayor or the job she's done, Devon Reese would be a nightmare and we don't wanna give him any more ammunition when running for mayor.
