On a recent FB post Mr. Reese had regarding the City of Boise, "Dan" made the suggestion that candidates should release their personal tax returns. Mr. Reese then stated, "Most of my net worth is in my home's appreciation." He's 51 years old, has been a working attorney for several decades and should have more personal net-worth by now than next-to-nothing. Not a bad idea for the mayoral candidates to voluntarily release their returns.

I'm no psychologist, but a lifestyle like this reeks of obsession, narcissism and entitlement. "I am wonderful and adored; therefore I deserve!"

The sensible advice every parent gives children about "saving for a rainy day" and "don't use your house as a piggy bank" was either absent or ignored.

"So I refinanced my house loan again. Big deal. Real estate ALWAYS goes up in value." A lot of folks thought that leading up to the 2009 crash and multiple prior crashes.

As it relates to how someone might govern, well, while a personal piggy bank may go dry, the public trough never does.... as taxpayers can ALWAYS be asked to shell over more and more each year. The city of Reno has a STRUCTURAL $25M annual deficit which all of us taxpayers will be asked to make up.

What hard-scrabble, self-made entrepreneur and DOGE proponent will rise to lead as Reno's next mayor? Anybody listening out there?
